Based on the discs that were used for phototypesetting, Integral Typography created its own to display its approach. Such as the light that passes through the transparent characters composing the black disc, this object reflects the transparency and intelligibility that the structure brings to its work. Each of the methodically organized characters in this abstract whole, work as a tool made to, when assembled together, create a rational and primary communication system.

In parallel of the creation of the Zig Zag folder, we worked with a CGI artist to create these images. The plans in the folder were used to model each wooden planks of the chair in a precise way. Once these pieces were produced, we were able to assemble them and bring the chair to life.

The Zig Zag chair is an iconic piece of furniture designed by the Dutch designer Gerrit Thomas Rietveld in 1934. It consists of a seat composed of three wooden planks assembled in a Z-shape, to which a fourth plank is joined for the back. This chair is a product of the minimalist and constructivist “De Stijl” movement.

It indexes all the Alpine summits that exceed an altitude of 4,000 metres. To make this repertoire more complete, a route is provided for each summit. The technical text is toned by satellite images of the summits that appear as abstract textures.
